When you are in the reception area waiting to be called for your interview what are you doing?  You are looking at your phone, hunched over a magazine, slouched in your seat, your legs are probably crossed.  If we believe that the way we carry ourselves, our body language, can change our minds, your body is not preparing you to be your best for your interview.

Harvard Professor, Amy Cuddy, in the Ted Talk video below, argues that you should go into the bathroom and take a victory stance right before you go into your interview.  With your body you are telling your mind that you are confident, enthusiastic and passionate about this position.  Three of the requirements of a great “presence.”  (The other three are captivating, comfortable and authentic.)  If visiting the bathroom is too complicated, use the Wonder Woman stance in the reception area to prepare yourself.  You’ll be amazed at the difference it makes!
